Specifications
The Héron is a robust standing cabinet featuring unexpected angles and sleek lines. It is inspired by the now-extinct confiturier, or jam cabinet. This furniture piece emerged alongside the rising popularity of sugar in the XVIII century. Designed for storing precious jams away from light, pests and heat, the furniture style quickly rose in popularity across France as each region created their unique iterations featuring local woods and hyper-regional details.
This modern interpretation stands 47 inches tall by 29.5 inches wide and 21.25 inches deep. The Héron boasts a completely asymmetrical design with everything from its door fronts to its legs ever-slightly askew. This geometric subtlety adds refined rebellion to its sturdy yet sleek frame. Each Héron is the result of over 500 hours of collaborative craftsmanship. The tear sheet is available upon request.
